Nigerian security forces have killed a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Makore, along with several of his fighters. This development was disclosed on Wednesday by Zagazola Makama, a counterterrorism and insurgency expert in the Lake Chad Basin, through his X handle.
Makama revealed that the operation took place on Sunday along the Kwankele road in the Magami area of Gusau Local Government Area, Zamfara State. The bandit leader and his men were reportedly on their way to recover the body of another bandit leader, Kachalla Sani Black, who had been killed earlier in the Dan Sadau area of Maru Local Government Area.
Kachalla Makore rose to prominence following the death of his predecessor, Kachalla Damuna, and was infamous for his criminal activities around Kangon Garacci village in the Dan Gulbi area of Maru LGA. The successful operation marks a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to curb banditry in Zamfara State.
