Troops of Operation Fansan Yanma have apprehended 25-year-old Shamsiyya Ahadu, a suspected logistics supplier for terrorist activities in Zamfara State, Nigeria.
The arrest took place on Saturday, December 28, following intelligence reports about her movements.
Ahadu was detained at a checkpoint along the Kware-Badarawa road in Shinkafi Local Government Area, alongside her accomplice, Ahmed Husaini. The security forces discovered that Ahadu was in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines, which were intended for delivery to notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji’s camp.
Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordinating Centre for Operation Fansan Yanma, confirmed the arrest in a statement, emphasizing the military’s commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and preventing the illegal movement of arms and ammunition within the region. Both suspects are now under investigation by the relevant authorities.
This operation follows a recent series of successful efforts by the military to curb terrorism and maintain peace in the troubled northern region. Abdullahi also urged the public to continue providing credible information to assist in the apprehension of terrorists and their collaborators, thanking local communities for their support of the operation.
