Nigerian track and field star Tobi Amusan has achieved another remarkable milestone by being inducted into the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Hall of Fame. This prestigious recognition celebrates her extraordinary achievements both academically and athletically.

Amusan, who competed for UTEP in the 2016 and 2017 seasons, made history by becoming the youngest female athlete from the university to earn this honor. During her time as a Miner, she clinched the national title in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships with a time of 12.57 seconds. She was also a three-time All-American and five-time Conference USA champion, holding UTEP records in the indoor 60-meter hurdles (7.98 seconds) and the outdoor 100-meter hurdles (12.57 seconds).

Amusan celebrated her induction with a post on her X (formerly Twitter) page, expressing gratitude and pride:
“I humbly introduce to you the youngest Female Miner to be inducted into UTEP’s Hall Of Fame Class of 2024 ✨ Great is God’s faithfulness.”

Beyond her collegiate achievements, Amusan has carved out a legendary career. She became the first Nigerian to win a World Athletics Championship gold medal and currently holds the world record in the 100m hurdles. A three-time Olympian, she has dominated regional and international competitions, earning multiple African and Commonwealth Games titles.
