In a swift response to concerns raised by a brief mishap during the June 12 Democracy Day celebration in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, has reassured the public that the President is in good health and spirits.

During the ceremony at Eagles Square, President Tinubu momentarily lost his footing while boarding a parade vehicle. However, he quickly regained his balance and continued with the proceedings without any further issues.

In a statement on X, Olusegun described the incident as a “mild misstep,” emphasizing that the President did not suffer any harm or injury. “Mr. President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep. He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues,” Olusegun wrote.

The incident occurred as President Tinubu was boarding the vehicle to inspect the guard of honor. Videos of the moment showed the President’s brief loss of balance, but he swiftly recovered and continued with the ceremony.

Olusegun’s statement aimed to alleviate any concerns about the President’s well-being, emphasizing that the incident was minor and did not affect the proceedings. The ceremony at Eagles Square was a significant event in the nationwide celebrations marking Nigeria’s annual Democracy Day.
