President Bola Tinubu has extended the tenure of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, until December 31, 2026.

The announcement was made in a statement by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday.

The President commended Nandap’s leadership, highlighting improvements in border management, immigration modernization, and national security under her tenure.

“Under her leadership, the Nigeria Immigration Service has witnessed significant advancements in its core mandate, with notable improvements in border management, modernisation of immigration processes, and national security measures,” the statement read.

Tinubu urged Nandap to continue focusing on the Service’s strategic priorities in alignment with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Nandap joined the Nigeria Immigration Service on October 9, 1989. She was appointed Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, with her initial tenure set to end on August 31, 2025.
