
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria has approved the appointment of chairpersons for 42 federal agencies and a new managing director for the Nigerian Railway Corporation.
The appointments, announced by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect.
Among the key appointments is former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who has been named Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). Other notable figures include Hon. Hillard Eta (Chairman, National Youth Service Corps), Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi (Chairman, Nigerian Institute of International Affairs), and Sen. Magnus Abe (Chairman, National Agency for Great Green Wall).
In his directive, President Tinubu emphasized that the roles are non-executive, advising the appointees to provide strategic leadership without interfering in daily management. The appointments, according to the Presidency, are part of efforts to strengthen governance and enhance national development.
