
President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has approved the appointment of Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective August 14, 2024.
Announced by Tinubu’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the appointment follows Mrs. Walson-Jack’s tenure as Federal Permanent Secretary since 2017, during which she served in various ministries.
“The new appointee will take over from the incumbent Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, who is due to retire on August 13, 2024,” Ngelale stated.
President Tinubu expressed gratitude for Yemi-Esan’s service and urged Walson-Jack to bring innovation, integrity, and strict adherence to civil service rules in her new role. “President Tinubu, while thanking the outgoing Head of Service for her stewardship, tasks the incoming Head of Service to discharge her duties with innovative flair, integrity, and stringent adherence to the extant rules and regulations of the Civil Service of the Federation,” the statement read.
