President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has appointed Brigadier-General Kunle Nafiu as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). His appointment takes immediate effect, replacing Brigadier-General Yushau Ahmed.
Before this role, Brigadier-General Nafiu served as Chief of Staff to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Olufemi Oluyede. He previously held the same position under the late Lieutenant-General Raised Abiodun Lagbaja.
A seasoned artillery officer, Nafiu is a member of the 47 Regular Course and a graduate of both the US Army War College and the Armed Forces Command and Staff College.
Hailing from Ileogbo in Aiyedire Local Government Area of Osun State, the newly appointed NYSC DG is expected to bring his extensive military experience to the leadership of the national youth service scheme.
