The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced on Friday that it has successfully restored electricity to Damaturu in Yobe State and Maiduguri in Borno State, following repairs on the 330kV Gombe-Damaturu-Maiduguri transmission line.

In a statement from TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the company confirmed that power was restored along the Gombe-Damaturu line at approximately 7:25 p.m. on October 30. Partial supply reached the Damaturu-Maiduguri (Molai) line on October 31 at about 2:01 p.m.

The restoration follows the reconstruction of tower 372, which was vandalized on September 22. TCN urged the public to report suspicious activities around power installations, stating, “TCN is again calling on the public to join in the fight against power installation vandalism to safeguard the future of electricity in Nigeria.”

Power supply in northern Nigeria has seen consistent disruptions due to infrastructure vandalism, impacting economic activities.
