American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has officially claimed the title of the world’s richest female musician, surpassing Barbadian artist and business mogul, Rihanna. According to Forbes, Swift, 34, is now worth an estimated $1.6 billion, making her the first female artist to achieve billionaire status solely through music and live performances.
Swift’s financial breakthrough is largely attributed to the overwhelming success of her sold-out Global Eras tour and the enduring value of her music catalogue. Forbes confirmed her record-setting wealth on Monday, noting, “Swift is the first musician to reach billionaire status based purely on her songs and performances.”
Her fortune is reportedly split across various revenue streams, including approximately $600 million from touring and royalties, another $600 million from her extensive music catalogue, and an additional $125 million in real estate investments.
This new milestone puts Swift ahead of Rihanna, who has built much of her own fortune through her music as well as her Fenty beauty and fashion empire. Swift’s recent success cements her legacy as one of the most influential figures in the entertainment industry.
