
Former Super Eagles left-back Taye Taiwo has been honored by French Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille, following his induction into the club’s Hall of Fame.
Taiwo, who played for Marseille from 2005 to 2011, was a crucial part of the team’s success during his six-year stint. The Nigerian defender made a significant impact, scoring 25 goals and providing 23 assists in 271 appearances for the French club.
Recognized as one of Nigeria’s finest left-backs, Taiwo also had an illustrious international career, earning 54 caps for the Super Eagles between 2004 and 2011 and scoring five goals.
At club level, he played for top European sides, including AC Milan and Queens Park Rangers. Since retiring in 2019, the 39-year-old has settled in France.
His induction into Marseille’s Hall of Fame cements his legacy as one of the club’s greats, acknowledging his contributions both on and off the pitch.
