Controversial influencers Andrew Tate, 38, and his brother Tristan, 36, have been formally charged in the UK with a total of 21 criminal offenses, including rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution, and actual bodily harm. Andrew Tate faces 10 charges related to three alleged victims, while Tristan Tate faces 11 charges connected to one alleged victim.
The allegations date back to between 2012 and 2015, and the brothers deny all accusations. An international arrest warrant was issued by Bedfordshire Police in 2024, and the Romanian courts have ordered their extradition to the UK. However, the extradition is currently on hold pending the resolution of separate criminal proceedings against them in Romania, where they face charges including trafficking minors, sexual intercourse with a minor, and money laundering.
The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed the charges following the receipt of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and emphasized the importance of a fair trial, urging the public to avoid any reporting or commentary that could prejudice the ongoing proceedings.
The alleged victims are represented by legal counsel who have called for justice and criticized earlier failures to prosecute the brothers when they resided in the UK. The Tate brothers’ legal team maintains their innocence, describing the charges as part of a campaign against them.
The brothers remain under investigation in Romania while awaiting extradition to face the UK charges.
