In a swift response to former President Donald Trump’s Sunday Truth Social post declaring, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”, the Taylor Swift fan organization, “Swifties for Kamala,” raised over $40,000 for Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign.
Carly Long, a member of the fan group’s communications team, stated that they saw an opportunity to capitalize on the post, using memes and Taylor Swift lyrics to motivate donations and volunteer efforts.
The Swiftie group, which has raised more than $207,000 in the last two months, is not officially affiliated with the singer but leverages her influence to support Harris’s Democratic campaign. “Swifties know that haters gonna hate, but we also know we can do more than just shake, shake, shake,” Long added.
