Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has described US Republican presidential candidate and former president Donald Trump as a “consummate liar” and a “menace to the world.”
Soyinka’s remarks came during an interview with TheNEWS, as part of the activities to celebrate his 90th birthday.
“But he did one thing. He studied and he understood the American psyche,” Soyinka stated. “And he knew the right chord to tweak in order to get them on his side, to get them to believe anything that he says. I don’t think the world has ever known such a consummate liar like Donald Trump.”
Trump, who is seeking a second term as president, recently survived an assassination attempt during a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania. The assailant, identified as Thomas Mathew Crooks, was killed in the incident.
