Popular South African rapper Malome Vector has died in a car accident. The accident occurred on Wednesday evening near the Koppies turn-off close to Kroonstad.
Malome Vector, whose real name was Bokang Moleli, was traveling with his musical collaborators Puleng Phoofolo and Lizwi Wokuqala. The Free State Department of Health confirmed that three men were declared dead at the scene. Two other individuals were transported to Boitumelo Regional Hospital with injuries.
Ambitiouz Entertainment, his former record label, confirmed the tragic incident in a post on Wednesday evening, stating, “With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of a shining beacon; the Lion of Lesotho’s sun has set. Our deepest condolences go out to his loved ones and industry peers during this time of profound loss.”
The report from the Department of Health elaborated on the severity of the accident: “Three men were declared dead at the scene of an accident on the N1 near the Koppies turn-off close to Kroonstad.”
