Popular Nigerian singer Crown Uzama, also known as Shallipopi, recently crowned ace rapper Olamide as the “king of Nigerian street music.”
In an interview with Naija FM, Shallipopi shared that his decision to feature Olamide on his track “Order” was influenced by the rapper’s strong connection to street culture. “Baddo [Olamide] is the father and king of Nigerian street music,” he stated, adding that “Olamide owns the street.”
During the interview, Shallipopi also confirmed his departure from Dapper Music following the expiration of his contract.
He clarified that the split was amicable, dismissing rumors of a rift with his former label. Known for his unique style and relatable lyrics, Shallipopi has quickly gained popularity on the Nigerian music scene, especially among younger audiences.
