The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointments of seven new ministerial nominees submitted by President Bola Tinubu for consideration. These nominees, including Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, were carefully reviewed, following Tinubu’s recent reshuffling, which involved reassigning ten ministers and dismissing five.
Among those screened were:
- Nentawe Yilwatda (Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction)
- Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu (Minister of State Foreign Affairs)
- Maigari Dingyadi (Minister of Labour and Employment)
- Jumoke Oduwole (Minister of Industry)
- Idi Maiha (Minister of Livestock Development)
- Yusuf Ata (Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development)
- Suwaiba Ahmad (Minister of State, Education)
During the screening, Senator Osita Ngwu attracted attention by complimenting Bianca’s beauty, prompting Senate President Godswill Akpabio to advise a focus on her qualifications. The Senate ultimately approved all nominees, marking a continuation of Tinubu’s cabinet restructuring for a “unity government.”
