Security agencies clashed with #EndBadGovernance protesters in the Gwagwalada area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Nigeria. The protesters had barricaded the main Lokoja-Abuja Expressway, preventing vehicular movement in the area.

Motorists reported that their cars were smashed, and the main road was blocked around Dagiri, Wazobia Park, and SDP Junction, all along the Expressway. In response, a combined force of police, army, civil defense, and local vigilantes was deployed to prevent a breakdown of law and order.

One of the protesters said, “We were peacefully demonstrating when the security forces started using tear gas to disperse us. We are fighting for our rights and against bad governance.”

The security forces’ actions were intended to maintain peace and prevent further disruption. This incident is part of a series of nationwide protests over the rising cost of living and economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
