
Saudi Arabia has announced that the crescent moon marking the beginning of the Islamic month of Shawwal has been sighted, confirming that Eid-el-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
The announcement was made on Saturday via the official Facebook page of Haramain, a widely recognized platform for the global Muslim community.
“The crescent moon for the month of Shawwal 1446 was sighted in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30, 2025,” the statement read.
Eid-el-Fitr, also known as the Festival of Breaking the Fast, marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting observed by Muslims worldwide. The celebration includes prayers, feasting, and acts of charity.
