
The serene town of Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria, radiated joy and celebration on Saturday, November 23, 2024, as Chief (Mrs.) Agbeke Olabisi Ola-Dada, the Yeyemesho of Egbe Tobalase Obinrin Obalofin Akile Ijebu, marked her 50th birthday in a spectacular ceremony.

The event drew family, friends, and dignitaries from far and wide, displaying a perfect blend of culture, elegance, and festivity.

The heart of Sagamu came alive with beautiful decorations and splashes of colorful accents, setting the tone for a grand celebration. From the moment guests stepped into the beautifully adorned venue, they were met with the rhythmic beats of traditional drummers and the electrifying performance of popular entertainer Alhaji Ganiu Ayinde. His spirited music and lively hype added a carnival-like atmosphere, keeping the audience on their feet throughout the event.

Chief Ola Dada, the celebrant’s husband and a distinguished lawyer, delivered a moving tribute to his wife, describing her as the cornerstone of their family. “Agbeke is not just my wife; she is my partner, my rock, and the light of our home. Her strength, wisdom, and love are unmatched. Celebrating her today is celebrating a woman who has touched so many lives with her kindness and generosity,” he said, drawing applause from the audience.

Their daughter, also named Agbeke, shared an emotional attestation to her mother’s profound influence. “My mother is my role model, my mentor, and my best friend. She has always taught us the value of integrity, hard work, and compassion. Today, as we celebrate her 50th, we honor a woman whose love knows no bounds,” she expressed, her voice brimming with pride and affection.

The guest list reflected Chief Agbeke’s wide-reaching impact and respected stature. Royal fathers, high-ranking chiefs, captains of industry, and cultural icons graced the occasion, adding glamour and prestige to the celebration.

Notably present were members of her regberegbe, Egbe Tobalase Obinrin Obalofin Akile Ijebu, where she holds the title of Yeyemesho. Dressed in matching aso-ebi, the group honoured their chief with traditional dances and accolades that celebrated her leadership and dedication. Members of the Global Club of Ago Awoye, where she serves as Life Matron, also paid homage with heartfelt speeches and generous gifts.

Guests were treated to a feast of traditional and international cuisines. Signature dishes which delighted the taste buds, while an array of drinks flowed freely.

The pinnacle of the evening was the cutting of the birthday cake, a towering confection adorned in gold and white, symbolizing the celebrant’s golden milestone.
