Popular Nigerian on-air personality, Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, widely known as Do2dtun, has officially announced his exit from radio after an illustrious 20-year career.

Taking to his Instagram page, the energetic media figure reflected on his journey, tracing his roots from a young intern under the guidance of radio legends like the late Dan Foster, Olisa Adibua, and Daddy Freeze, to becoming a household name in Nigerian broadcasting.

Expressing a mix of emotions, Do2dtun described his departure as one of the hardest decisions he has ever made but affirmed that he leaves with a sense of fulfillment and pride in the legacy he built.

“This must be one of the hardest decisions I have made. I am fulfilled in my heart that I built a legacy. Oh, my sweet home @coolfmlagos accepted me on Nov 1st, 2004, as an intern—dusty, unprepared, and knew absolutely nothing about radio.”

Recalling his early days, he reminisced about stepping into Cool FM Lagos as a rookie with little knowledge of radio, but with the support of his colleagues, he found his footing.

“I was this kid with fear, doubtful, but my hands were held by one of my most selfless colleagues ever—from Dan Foster (RIP) ‘AUNTY B’ @daddyfreeze @mannieessien @estheroyegue @tallestmessiah (my guy and mesuyah partner ????) @ruccibella @olisaadibua. You were the first set of guys that gave me the little light to grow after GOD.”

Beyond his on-air presence, Do2dtun highlighted his role in reshaping Nigerian radio, pioneering shows such as Cool Nigerian Vibe, Superstar Wednesday, and Office Concert. These programs, he noted, contributed significantly to increasing local music content on Nigerian radio, shifting the landscape from being heavily dominated by foreign music to a platform that now showcases about 70% Nigerian content.

“Creating shows like ‘Cool Nigerian Vibe,’ ‘Superstar Wednesday,’ and ‘Office Concert’ gave radio a lift from just foreign music to 70% of Nigerian music and content. It was a win for us all. I can’t even explain my journey because it’s a lot. It was a rollercoaster of the good, the bad, the awesome, and the ugly.”

In his farewell message, he acknowledged the leadership of Cool FM for the opportunity and extended his gratitude to colleagues and fans who stood by him throughout his journey.

Though stepping away from radio, Do2dtun remains a multi-faceted media personality with a strong presence in the entertainment industry.
