Protests have reignited in the Federal Capital Territory, Ibadan, Akure, and Abeokuta on Saturday, August 10, 2024 following a brief halt due to police raids and the arrest of several organizers.
The demonstrations, which started as hunger protests on Thursday, August 1, initially saw widespread enthusiasm across Nigeria. However, the fervor had begun to wane in recent days.
Photos shared by Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 and 2023 general elections, show the protesters returning to the streets in these cities.
Sowore posted the images on his X account (@YeleSowore), reflecting the ongoing resistance despite the challenges faced by the movement.
As the protests continue, the situation remains tense, with demonstrators demanding action on the issues driving the unrest.
