A new leaked audio recording allegedly featuring popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has sparked intense reactions on social media.

The recording, shared by social media influencer Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, surfaced on Monday, October 7, 2024, and is claimed to reveal Bobrisky admitting that he was not in prison, despite facing charges, but in a “well-furnished apartment near the prison.”

VeryDarkMan, who has been at the forefront of exposing Bobrisky’s alleged dealings, said the recording was made on May 16, 2024. He emphasized that it was not a continuation of a previous leak but a separate conversation entirely.

Reactions across various platforms, especially X (formerly Twitter), have been divided. Some users have expressed shock and disappointment, while others are questioning the authenticity of the claims. One user, UGo, wrote, “Imagine Bobrisky with a money laundering case, yet not serving time in prison. How does this happen?”

Another user, Wills Media, defended Bobrisky, tweeting, “Those that Bobrisky trusted are his worst enemies. Why would a friend leak this information just to bring him down?”

Others questioned why these conversations were being recorded in the first place. “How do people record these conversations with Bobrisky? It seems like a setup,” tweeted #AdeyemiOladip14.

However, some users criticized the public’s focus on Bobrisky’s personal issues instead of addressing larger societal problems. “If people could focus more on corruption in Nigeria and less on dragging Bobrisky, we might actually see change in the country,” commented #WealthyWave04.

This latest recording follows a previous one in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have bribed Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials with N15 million to drop money laundering charges against him. Bobrisky denied those allegations, maintaining that he served his time in prison and describing the recordings as “fake.”

In response to the ongoing revelations, a commenter on Instagram noted, “Why bring this recording to social media? If you have proof, take it to court.”

Bobrisky has yet to address this latest leak, but the crossdresser continues to find himself at the center of public controversy as these claims gain more traction online.
