The Princess of Wales has returned to her royal duties, attending a private meeting at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, as confirmed by the court circular. The meeting focused on early years’ work, a cause close to her heart.

This marked the princess’s first official engagement since her recent announcement that she had completed her preventative chemotherapy following a cancer diagnosis earlier in the year. In a personal video message, she shared, “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes.

The meeting, which included members of the Royal Foundation’s Centre for Early Childhood, underscores her ongoing commitment to supporting early childhood development. The Princess expressed excitement about returning to work, stating, “I am looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.

While the palace has indicated she will focus on “light duties” for now, she is expected to attend a limited number of public engagements before the year ends. It’s also anticipated that she will join the Royal Family for Remembrance Sunday in November.

This latest engagement at Windsor Castle follows her attendance at Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon earlier this year, which were her only public appearances since December 2023.

Prince William, the Prince of Wales, also had a private engagement on Tuesday, visiting the 22 Special Air Service Regiment, though further details of his visit remain undisclosed due to the sensitive nature of the work.
