Electricity has been restored in Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, and Benue states under the Jos Electricity Distribution Company’s jurisdiction, bringing relief to residents after a prolonged blackout.
According to Daily Trust, power was restored around 7:20 pm on Wednesday, sparking celebrations among residents in Jos, the Plateau state capital.
The blackout began after a recent act of vandalism on the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line, which affected around 17 northern states. In response, President Tinubu met with Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, urging expedited efforts to restore electricity to all affected areas. The federal government assured the public on Tuesday that power would return within two to three days.
