Nigerian controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been released from the custody of the Lagos State Police Command after being forcefully arrested earlier this week. The arrest stemmed from allegations that Portable had failed to complete payment for his luxury car, a G-Wagon.

The musician had reportedly purchased a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 from car dealer Ogunsanwo Temitope, also known as Temmy Autos, but had only paid N13 million of the N27 million total cost, refusing to settle the remaining N14 million balance.

Confirming Portable’s release, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated to Vanguard that the singer had been granted bail. However, Hundeyin refrained from commenting on whether Portable had resolved the payment dispute.

Portable’s release marks a potential resolution to the legal ordeal that had ensnared the musician earlier in the week.
