The Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos State Command, Nigeria, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has criticized rising singer Ayo Maff for the “indecent” lyrics in his new song ‘Last Week.’

In the song’s opening verse, Ayo Maff mentions using Canadian Loud, a potent synthetic strain of cannabis, and contacting his dealer when he ran out.

Reacting to a viral snippet of the song on social media platform X, SP Hundeyin expressed concern about the lyrics, emphasizing the link between drug abuse and crime among youths.

He pointed out that half of the young individuals in prison might not be there if they avoided drug abuse, noting that illicit drugs are often precursors to criminal behavior.

He tweeted, “He does what on Mondays and Saturdays? Help me listen. Like Asa said, there is fire on the mountain and nobody seems to be on the run… Fact: Half of the young ones in prison today wouldn’t be there if they didn’t do drugs. Drugs is a precursor to everything bad. Eni a wi fun…,” He concluded.
