The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command in Nigeria has denied claims that Erasmus Emhenya was tortured to death by police at Nyanya station.
Erasmus’ mother alleged on the Brekete Family program that her son was arrested and tortured, leading to his death on April 6, 2023. She claimed he was held after a raid, unlike other suspects who were released.
In response, FCT Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh stated on Thursday that an investigation and autopsy confirmed Erasmus was not tortured. She urged interested parties to review the autopsy and investigation reports at the FCT police headquarters in Garki, Abuja.
