The Abia State Police Command has arrested two women, Louis Osueke, 58, and Esther Jude, 42, for stealing children from a church in Okpuumuobo, Aba.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, made this known during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Umuahia on Friday, September 19, 2025.

Danladi stated that the stolen children, a 6-year-old girl, Chidinma Uzochukwu, and a 10-month-old baby, were safely rescued from the suspects and reunited with their family.

On September 17, 2025, at about 1845 hours, leveraging on credible intelligence, officers from Abia State Police Command conducted a successful operation, leading to the arrest of Louis Osueke, 58, a native of Umuohia Village, Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Imo State, and Esther Jude, 42, a native of Umuimeka Village, Owerri West LGA, Imo State, in connection with a case of child stealing that occurred on September 7, 2025, at Anglican Church, Okpuumuobo, Aba, Abia State.
