Veteran producer Wale Adenuga has dismissed claims by actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco, that he is facing financial hardship, describing the statement as false and misleading.
The reaction followed recent comments by the actor suggesting he was struggling financially despite decades of appearing in the popular television series.
Adenuga clarified that the actor has not been prevented from taking up other jobs, explaining that he only needs approval when using the Papa Ajasco brand due to its protected status.
He stated that there has been no serious disagreement between the production company and the actor, adding that the claims of neglect are inaccurate.
The producer also highlighted the actor’s background, noting that he had a long career as a civil servant with the Lagos State Government before retiring.
Adenuga further said the actor had benefited from support over the years, including access to vehicles and ownership of a house in Ogun State.
He maintained that the production company has continued to support its cast and operates with transparency, stressing that narratives suggesting exploitation or abandonment are unfounded.
