
Elder statesman and leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, has passed away at the age of 97.
His death was confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday by a family representative, Prof. C. C. Clark. According to the statement, the former Federal Commissioner for Information and prominent South-South leader died on Monday, February 17, 2025.
“The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, OFR, CON, on Monday, 17th February 2025,” the statement read. “The family appreciates your prayers at this time. Other details will be announced later by the family.”
Clark, a respected advocate for the rights of the Niger Delta region, was known for his outspoken stance on national issues and his role in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape.
