The Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) has presented Certificates of Return to the newly elected local government chairmen following the conclusion of the state’s LG elections held on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Presenting the certificates on Sunday, OSSIEC Chairman, Barrister Hashim Abioye, urged the elected officials to uphold democratic values and serve the people diligently.
He congratulated the new chairmen and wished them success as they assume leadership of their respective councils.
The election, which was keenly contested, saw various political stakeholders participating in the democratic process. The ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had earlier described its victory as an endorsement of good governance.
