Liam Payne, former member of the globally famous boy band One Direction, was found dead after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The tragic incident took place on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, according to a statement released by Argentine police.
Payne, 31, was staying at the CasaSur Hotel in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires when police were called to the scene after receiving reports of “an aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol.” Upon arrival, officers were informed by the hotel manager that he had heard a loud noise from the courtyard. Investigations revealed that Payne had fallen from the balcony of his room.
In audio obtained from the Buenos Aires security ministry, a hotel employee can be heard frantically requesting assistance from the police. “When he is conscious, he is destroying the entire room, and we need you to send someone,” the worker said, adding that Payne’s life was at risk due to the presence of a balcony in the room.
