Nigerian rapper Oladips has publicly accused Grammy-winning artist Wizkid of stealing his lyrics.
The allegation arose after Oladips claimed that Wizkid sampled lines from his song “Ajala Travel Remix” in the track “MMS,” a recent collaboration between Wizkid and Asake.
Oladips shared side-by-side screenshots of the lyrics from both songs on his Instagram account, pointing out the similarities.
While some fans argued that sampling is common in the music industry, Oladips responded that it’s only acceptable when the original artist is acknowledged.
He stated, “It’s normal if you acknowledge the source! No be say dem go dey pretend like say dem no know you but come dey bite your lyrics for corner.”
As of now, Wizkid has not responded to the accusations.
