In a recent address at the Africa Methodist Council Heads of Conference Summit and Women’s Movement Leadership Summit in Lagos, former President Olusegun Obasanjo emphasized the need for a new generation of leaders in Nigeria.
He stressed that the current state of the country, marked by insecurity, suffering, and hunger, necessitates a change in leadership.
Obasanjo urged Nigerian leaders to re-evaluate the world and wake up to their responsibilities, emphasizing the need for moral, transformational, and servant leaders. He highlighted the importance of leadership in Africa, noting that resources alone are not enough to create a better world.
He stated, “Nigeria as it is now is volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous, and dangerous… We need a new generation of leaders to lead by showing love and leading the re-evaluation and transformation.”
Obasanjo’s call for new leadership comes at a time when Nigeria is facing numerous challenges, including insecurity and economic hardship.
His message resonates with many Nigerians who are seeking a change in the country’s leadership and direction.
