The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has acknowledged fuel supply and distribution challenges in Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The company has assured the public that measures are being taken to restore normalcy.
“The NNPC Ltd. wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels,” explained Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the NNPCL, in a statement on Saturday.
He further assured that the company is actively addressing the issue: “The Company further states that it is working round the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and restore normalcy in the operations.”
The confirmation from NNPCL came amid reports of long queues and fluctuating fuel prices in various parts of the country.
