Abayomi Whint, a Nigerian-American legal expert, has been sworn in as a judge of the Kings County New York Civil Court, marking a significant milestone in her career and representation for Nigerians in the U.S. judiciary.

The newly elected judge was among eight candidates chosen to serve in Brooklyn during the November 2024 elections. With over 20 years of legal experience, Whint has worked primarily in the public sector as a litigator, certified mediator, and arbitrator specializing in conflict resolution.

Beyond her legal career, Whint has actively participated in leadership roles, advocating for inclusivity and restorative justice practices. According to her LinkedIn profile, she views justice as an active commitment to fairness, equity, and truth.
