Netflix has dismissed rumors of its alleged departure from the Nigerian market, citing its continued dedication to investing in local content and delighting Nigerian audiences.
In a statement shared with TechCabal, the global streaming giant clarified: “We are not exiting Nigeria. We will continue to invest in the country’s stories to delight our members.”
Speculations had surfaced claiming that Netflix was leaving Nigeria due to the country’s economic challenges and regulatory pressures. However, the company’s reassurance has put these rumors to rest.
Since its entry into Nigeria in 2016, Netflix has played a pivotal role in promoting Nigerian storytelling to a global audience, elevating Nollywood content to international acclaim.
