The Nigerian naira continued its upward trend against the US dollar across both official and parallel foreign exchange markets on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
At the black market, the naira appreciated to ₦1,485 per dollar, gaining ₦15 from the ₦1,500 rate recorded on Monday. A Bureau de Change operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, Abubakar Alhasan, confirmed this to Daily Post on Tuesday.
Similarly, data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) indicated that the naira strengthened in the official market, exchanging at ₦1,495.91 per dollar, up from ₦1,497.11 on Monday. This reflects a ₦1.2 gain within 24 hours.
The recent appreciation follows a trend observed on Monday when the naira also gained value against the dollar across various FX markets.
The continuous improvement in the naira’s value is attributed to ongoing efforts by the CBN and other financial stakeholders to stabilize the currency and manage foreign exchange liquidity.
