Wunmi Aloba, the wife of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram on the first anniversary of his death. Reflecting on her pain and the struggles she has faced since losing him, Wunmi expressed that her husband’s death remains a nightmare for her and their son, Liam.
Mohbad, a former artiste under Naira Marley’s record label, passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and a Lagos Coroner’s Court, led by Magistrate T.A. Sotobi, is investigating the case.
In her tribute, Wunmi wrote, “It’s been a year today—a year since you left me and our Liam in this cold world… Your passing brought me unbearable pain, but it has also shaped me. I’ve learned so much, and I’m still learning.” She described her husband’s death as something she will never fully accept and mentioned that every day feels like a bad dream from which she has yet to wake.
Despite the sorrow, Wunmi chose to celebrate her husband’s legacy and the memories he left behind. She vowed to raise their son with love, ensuring that Mohbad’s memory lives on in every step of Liam’s life. She concluded with a prayer for his soul, expressing her hope that he rests peacefully.
