Adura Aloba, the brother of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has denied allegations made by actor Yomi Fabiyi that he has knowledge of the cause of his brother’s death.

Speaking in response to Fabiyi’s claims during a press conference, Adura insisted that he had no information regarding Mohbad’s passing and expressed shock at the accusations.

“Firstly, I do not have much to say. This matter is already in court, so I do not need to say much. I cannot know about my brother’s death and keep quiet all these days. I am really surprised by these allegations,” he said.

Adura clarified that the video at the center of the controversy was recorded by Mohbad himself about three years ago and was not created by him. He further explained that the video was stored on a phone that he later sold to an individual named Damola, who eventually brought it to Yomi Fabiyi’s attention.

“Mohbad did the video, and it was on his phone for more than three years. When I sold the phone to Damola, about a week later, I started seeing his messages with Mr. Yomi. That was how it all happened. Mr. Yomi is trying to tarnish my name, but I did not do it,” Adura stated.

Fabiyi’s Allegations

Fabiyi had previously alleged that Adura contacted him via Instagram, claiming to have evidence related to Mohbad’s death and requesting N3 million to share a video supposedly showing Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, pushing him down the stairs during an altercation.

However, Adura dismissed these claims, maintaining that Fabiyi’s statements were misleading and damaging to his reputation.

Ongoing Investigations

The controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death on September 12, 2023, continues to unfold. His body was buried the following day but was later exhumed on September 21, 2023, by the police for an autopsy.

The legal battle over his death remains active, with conflicting narratives emerging from different parties. Meanwhile, Mohbad’s mother also recently clashed with Yomi Fabiyi over his public comments on the case.
