
The Nigerian military has reported significant successes in its fight against terrorism across the country over the past week. According to the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen.
Edward Buba, troops eliminated 101 terrorists, apprehended 182 others, and arrested a terrorist commander, Usman Maisaje, who is a close associate of notorious terrorist leader Kachalla Boka.
During various operations, the military rescued 157 hostages and recovered a large cache of weapons, including 71 assorted firearms and over 1,463 rounds of ammunition. Troops also destroyed several terrorist camps, conducted airstrikes, and neutralized terrorists across the North East, North Central, and Niger Delta regions. Additionally, 74 terrorists surrendered to military forces during the week.
In the Niger Delta, troops uncovered and destroyed 60 illegal refining sites and arrested 45 individuals involved in oil theft.
