Popular Nigerian artist Mayorkun has revealed that Davido, his former label boss, played a significant role in helping him secure a deal with Sony Music Africa.
Mayorkun, who joined Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) in 2016 and left the label in 2021, addressed the speculation that their relationship had become strained after his exit.
In a recent conversation, the singer clarified that there is no bad blood between them and credited Davido for supporting his move to Sony.
“Alongside running my own label, I’m now signed with Sony Africa. Shout out to Davido as well — he helped make the deal happen,” Mayorkun said.
