Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has seen his personal fortune grow by an astounding $73.4 billion in 2024, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index. This surge brings his total net worth to $201 billion, placing him among an elite group of individuals with fortunes exceeding $200 billion. Zuckerberg, 40, is now the fourth richest person in the world, joining Tesla CEO Elon Musk ($272 billion), Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($211 billion), and LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault ($207 billion).

Zuckerberg’s wealth is largely tied to Meta Platforms, which has experienced a significant stock surge of nearly 64% this year. On Wednesday, Meta shares hit a record high, closing at $568.31. Although they dipped slightly to $567.36 on Friday, the overall performance of Meta stock has contributed substantially to Zuckerberg’s wealth increase.

Meta operates several popular platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and the messaging app WhatsApp. At the Meta Connect 2024 event, Zuckerberg highlighted the company’s advancements in artificial intelligence, stating, “Meta AI is on track to become the most used assistant in the world. We’re almost at 500 million monthly active users, and we haven’t even launched in some of the bigger countries yet.”

Zuckerberg isn’t the only tech titan to experience a sharp rise in net worth this year. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison have also seen their fortunes soar, with increases of $62.2 billion and $58.6 billion, respectively.

As Meta continues to innovate and expand its reach, Zuckerberg’s wealth and influence in the tech world show no signs of slowing down.
