A man in the UK has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for arranging with a woman to sexually abuse her 12-year-old daughter while her father was away. John Davies, 45, a registered sex offender from Stoke-on-Trent, was found guilty of multiple offences related to child sexual abuse.
Davies planned the abuse during a visit to the mother’s home in Birmingham. The court heard that he and the mother had explicit conversations detailing the sexual acts he intended to carry out on the young girl. Davies even suggested the child would be “sore by the end of the week.” The pair also discussed what clothes the girl should wear during the week-long visit, which was timed for when the father was away.
In addition to these plans, Davies sent pictures of his collection of sex toys along with descriptions of how he intended to use them.
In May 2024, Davies pleaded guilty to several charges, including attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, distributing and making indecent photographs of a child, and breaching a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) three times.
Police investigations uncovered 132 indecent images of children on Davies’ devices, including some in the most serious category of abuse imagery. These images featured girls as young as six years old. The discovery followed a police raid on his home in April 2024 after intelligence suggested he had violated his SHPO.
Davies had a previous conviction from 2016 for offences involving child grooming and attempted sexual activity with a child under 16.
Following a trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Davies was found guilty of arranging and facilitating child sexual offences, including rape and assault by penetration of a child under 13.
He was sentenced to 14 and a half years in prison, followed by five and a half years on extended licence.
Detective Constable Nathalie Connolly, who led the investigation, expressed satisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing the police’s commitment to tackling child sex offences and protecting children in Staffordshire.
