American rapper, Lil Durk’s 10-year-old son allegedly shot his stepfather, Joshua Pippens, during a domestic dispute involving the child’s mother. The incident was captured by surveillance cameras on July 1.
The footage reportedly shows Pippens, wearing orange, restraining the child’s mother, dressed in purple, while the child, in a red t-shirt and shorts, takes Pippens’ gun and fires at him. The video depicts Pippens falling after the gunshot.
From his hospital bed, Pippens denied being the aggressor, alleging on Instagram that the child acted under the mother’s influence. “As y’all can see I was not the aggressor,”Pippens wrote. “He grabbed my gun off my hip following his mom’s lead and tried to shoot me and then actually shot me.”
Pippens expressed his dismay, stating, “I never in a million years thought a kid I bought four wheelers and paid football leagues and everything would do this but he only knows what mom shows him. I still love him like he’s mine.”
He suggested the dispute may have involved custody issues, writing, “That’s why I got custody of my kids and she don’t.”
Lil Durk has yet to comment on the incident.
