The Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) in Libya has deported 48 Nigerian women and two children with support from the Nigerian consular services and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The deportation took place via Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli as part of ongoing efforts to assist Nigerian migrants facing hardship in Libya.

The organization Migrant Rescue Watch announced the operation in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), confirming the safe return of the migrants.

This latest deportation follows similar repatriation efforts in recent months. Libya has been a major transit hub for Nigerians seeking to migrate to Europe, but many find themselves stranded under harsh conditions, often facing detention and abuse.
