
Popular Nigerian singer and former BBNaija winner, Laycon, has publicly called out DJ Neptune over unpaid royalties for their collaboration on the song “Nobody (Icons Remix).”
In a viral post shared on his X handle on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, Laycon expressed frustration, claiming that DJ Neptune has not fulfilled their agreement regarding the song’s royalties, despite four years passing since its release.
Laycon wrote, “Abeg o, DJ Neptune how far my agreement and split for the ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’ song though. Is it not still ready? Haba it’s been 4 years.” The song, which also featured Joeboy, was released in October 2020 and was dedicated to Laycon’s fanbase, known as Icons, after his BBNaija victory.
As of now, DJ Neptune has yet to respond to Laycon’s allegations.
Laycon, whose real name is Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, gained widespread fame after winning the Big Brother Naija reality show in 2020. A talented rapper and singer, he has since released multiple hit songs and continues to enjoy a strong following among fans. Laycon holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Lagos and has recently bagged a Master’s degree from a UK university.
DJ Neptune, born Imohiosen Patrick, is a renowned Nigerian disc jockey and music producer. He is widely recognized for his hit collaborations with top African artists, making him a household name in the Afrobeats scene. Neptune has released several successful projects, including his debut album “Greatness,” which solidified his position as one of Nigeria’s top DJs.
