Nigerian footballer Kayode Olanrewaju has filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against UK-based Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, alleging that Adegboyega’s affair with his wife, Dora Ezinne Kayode, has caused him significant emotional and financial distress. Olanrewaju, who is also seeking an official divorce, claims that the affair has led to severe emotional trauma, financial losses, and a damaged reputation.

Filed under Suit Number PET/304/2024 at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja, the cross-petition outlines accusations of infidelity, financial misconduct, and family turmoil. Olanrewaju alleges that Ezinne has committed adultery multiple times since their marriage in 2013, most notably with Pastor Adegboyega. “Their relationship has not been hidden,” he stated, citing public appearances and intimate moments shared between the two.

Olanrewaju also accuses his wife of financial misappropriation, claiming she diverted funds and rental proceeds from properties he had purchased, using them to support her alleged extravagant lifestyle and relationship with Adegboyega. He alleges collusion between Ezinne and her former lover, Ugochukwu Igboanugo, in misappropriating property documents and siphoning company assets.

The footballer further detailed the emotional toll, including the abrupt termination of his international football contract to address the marital crisis. He is requesting the court grant him custody of their children, arguing that Ezinne is unfit to be a role model.

Olanrewaju’s suit follows an incident in May 2024, when his father-in-law refunded the bride price, leading Ezinne to declare herself free on social media. The case is scheduled for a hearing on September 24, 2024.
