Kanye West, also known as Ye, has deleted his X (formerly Twitter) account following widespread criticism over a series of offensive posts targeting the Jewish community.

The 47-year-old rapper posted a string of controversial remarks on Friday, including statements such as “I love Hitler” and “I’m a Nazi.” He also declared, “I’m never apologising for my Jewish comments.” These posts prompted the platform to issue a sensitive content warning on his account.

Shortly after, West announced his departure from the platform, writing, “I’m logging out of Twitter… It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board. It was like an Ayahuasca trip.”

His remarks sparked outrage, with the Campaign Against Antisemitism urging X owner Elon Musk to remove West from the platform, stating, “Once again, Ye has gone on an antisemitic rampage online. We call on Elon Musk to remove him from X.”

Friends star David Schwimmer also joined the calls for action, condemning West’s rhetoric as “hate-filled, ignorant bile.” In an Instagram post, Schwimmer pointed out West’s vast following of 32.7 million people and warned that his comments fuel real-world violence against Jewish communities.

West’s latest controversy follows a history of antisemitic remarks that previously led to account suspensions. In October 2022, his X account was restricted over antisemitic comments, prompting Adidas and other brands to cut ties with him. In December 2022, his account was again suspended after he praised Hitler and posted a swastika inside a Star of David—a move Musk cited as “incitement to violence.”

While West’s account was reinstated in July 2023, his recent remarks have reignited debates over whether social media platforms should continue giving him a voice.
